5 Easy tips to get that flawless, beautiful neck

Let’s face it. Most of us have neglected our necks! Even though we go to great lengths to moisturize, clean, and pamper our faces, our skin still looks imperfect. Our poor neck still receives no attention! We extremely, conveniently ignore the part that says “face and neck,” even though face washes and scrubs say that! And we only sit up and start to notice the folds and lines when we pass the age of thirty!

As per the words of a renowned dermatologist (whose name I regretfully cannot mention), our necks require equal attention to what our faces require! It’s just as vulnerable as your face. The skin is thinner than the skin on your face. And as a result of our lack of caution.

Apply a gentle cleanser: Your neck requires a kinder, gentle face wash, not a harsh soap, just like your face! Therefore, when taking a shower, wash your neck with face wash instead of body soap while you are- lathering up your body!

Exfoliating:

When you exfoliate your skin. It will help to open up clogged pores and remove any unwanted tanning marks. However, keep in mind that the skin on your neck is thinner than the skin on your face, so it’s important to avoid using a strong or harsh scrub. Overscrubbing can cause more irritation to your skin than it helps, so be gentle when exfoliating your neck and face.

Moisturizer & Sunscreen:

Apply the same sunscreen and moisturizer to your neck as you do to your face. Your neck is just as exposed to the sun as your face, so wearing sunscreen is crucial. The only thing to keep in mind is that, as opposed to the circular motion we use for the face, the application direction should be upwards.

It’s also advised that you apply the same amount of product to your neck as you do to your face. Ultimately, the area of your neck is nearly equal to that of your face! Consequently, it doesn’t really matter if you just wipe off the leftover face cream on your neck!

Night Cream:

Our skin performs the majority of its natural repair and regeneration processes at night. The body is inherently active when we are younger, repairing skin quickly and to its best ability. But after 30, the process slows down, so using a night cream becomes crucial because it helps your skin naturally heal itself, especially around the neck.

Compared the day creams, night creams are thicker and contain anti-aging ingredients like glycolic acid and retinol that aid in cell repair. Therefore, simply apply the same night cream that you use on your face to your neck.

If you don’t prefer using night creams, you can apply a small amount of coconut or olive oil to your neck and massage it upwards before going to bed. This method works similarly, as it helps to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized throughout the night.

Neck Exercises:

Our phone usage behavior is also contributing to the problem! Even if you don’t already have neck folds, continually staring down at your phone with your neck bowed only speeds up the process. And for those of us who already have necklines, it’s even worse!

That’s why regular neck exercises are so important. There’s a simple yoga pose you can do anytime, anywhere – when you’re traveling when you wake up, or before bed! Open your mouth, and slowly close it as you tilt your head upwards and look at the sky. You’ll feel your neck stretching, but keep in mind that consistency.
